Letter from the President

Dear Winemaker,

Enclosed you will find the Schedule & Entry form for 2008, our 17th Annual Wine Show.
Due to the increased number of entries we have introduced a varietal class for Sauvignon Blanc wines this year.

Entries of Italian & Spanish Varietal wines and blends have increased to the point where we are now able to include a separate class for them so they will be separated from the other varieties and blends class. The Shiraz Viognier class has been retained.

The 85% NSW fruit rule applies to the Sparkling wines as it does to all entries.

Please read Regulation 2 in the Schedule.

In 2007 we received 657 entries from 105 vinewayrds/wineries in NSW & the ACT. Thirteen Trophies, 25 Gold, 53 Silver and numerous Bronze medals were awarded, also 3 Commendations Certificates in the unfinished classes.

We will be conducting this year's Show on 26th & 27th August at the Forbes Youth and Community Centre, Battye Street where we will hold an Exhibitors Tasting on Friday the 19th from 4:30pm to 8:30pm. It will be followed by a Public Tasting 6:30pm to 8:30pm at the same venue.

Lester Jesberg from Winewise Wine Newsletter will be the Chairman of Judge again this year and we hope Award Winners may receive some mention, at Lester's discretion of course.

Winetitles, Clear Image and Vintec, Transtherm Storage Cabinets are the Major Sponsor this year and the Trophy for the Best Red Wine of Show will be one of their Wine Storage Cabinets.
Winetitles will supply 2 subscriptions to The Wine Industry Journal but most importantly they have consented to include an article on the Wine Show & Results which will be written by one of our judges, Debbie Pearce.

A Presentation Dinner will be held on 13th September. A Booking form will be included with your entry labels. Once again we will be contacting successful Exhibitors to supply wine at cost or contra for this Dinner.
